How Accor champions disability inclusion

Discover how we're helping create more inclusive hospitality careers through disability inclusion initiatives, accessible opportunities and a culture where everyone can thrive.

Looking for an employer where everyone can thrive?

More and more people are looking for careers where they can grow professionally while contributing to something meaningful. At Accor, we believe hospitality is at its best when everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute and succeed.

This commitment reflects how we create careers that combine professional growth with the opportunity to make a positive impact. That's why creating opportunities for people of all abilities is an important part of how we build teams, support our communities and bring our values to life every day.

How is Accor making hospitality careers more accessible?

Creating a more inclusive hospitality industry requires more than good intentions; it requires long-term commitment and action.

Over the years, we've continued to strengthen our approach to disability inclusion across our hotels and offices. In 2015, Accor signed the International Labour Organisation's Global Business and Disability Charter, reinforcing our commitment to equal opportunities and non-discrimination in the workplace.

In 2021, we joined the Valuable 500, a global initiative dedicated to advancing disability inclusion in business.

These commitments reflect our ambition to make hospitality careers more accessible and ensure that talented individuals have the opportunity to learn, develop and grow within our industry.

How does Accor create opportunities for people with disabilities?

One example of this commitment is Accor World Duo Days.

Developed in partnership with local associations, schools and non-profit organizations, the initiative invites people with disabilities to discover life inside our hotels and explore a variety of hospitality careers. Through hands-on experiences, participants gain insight into different professions while meeting the teams who bring hospitality to life every day.

In Greater China, our partnership with the non-profit organization beYoureyeS welcomed visually impaired individuals into our hotels to discover hospitality roles and workplace environments.

These experiences created valuable opportunities for participants while helping our teams better understand accessibility and inclusion from different perspectives.

What does an inclusive workplace look like?

Building an inclusive workplace is an ongoing journey that involves learning from one another.

As part of Duo Days activities, team members took part in experiences designed to better understand the challenges faced by people with visual impairments. These moments encouraged empathy, trust and greater awareness while reinforcing the importance of creating welcoming environments for both guests and colleagues.

Over the past seven years, Accor Greater China has hosted more than 500 disability inclusion events, bringing together nearly 8,400 individuals with disabilities and 25,000 team members. Together, these initiatives help create workplaces where people feel respected, supported and empowered to contribute their unique talents.
