Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

1.1.1    To be totally familiar with hotel products, rates, and promotions at all times. Maintain up to date understanding of company products and rates and involvement in cross selling of these when required
1.1.2    Be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of all competing hotel and restaurant products and provide weekly regular updates after visiting competition hotels allocated for tracking purposes
1.1.3    Provide ongoing market intelligence by monitoring business sources and segments
1.1.4    Represent hotel at trade fairs, functions and other related events as directed.
1.1.5    Ensure that sales blitzes in the local city or outstation for the geographic area of responsibility are conducted timely and efficiently.
1.1.6    Participate in hotel activities including promotions, sales blitzes, entertainment and other operational areas as directed.
1.1.7    Penetrate and saturate prospective and existing customer organizations for effective multi department selling.
1.1.8    Service needs of customers by attending to all requests promptly within 24 hours.
1.1.9     Assist the DOS in pursuing new market segments to secure sales and prepare proposals for consideration
1.1.10    Develop strong, secure and productive business relations with all companies within portfolio under the geographic / market segment allocated.

1.1.12    Positive communication of the hotel image to existing and potential customer at all times.
1.1.13    Ensure that revenues and / or cost controls are maximized through proactive actions rather than reactive management.
1.1.14    Handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
1.1.15    Maximize occupancy and average rate of hotel through creative and selective selling.
1.1.16    Accurately report the month-end, year-to-date room night and revenue accounts to the DOS, for revenue increasing opportunities and possible action plans.
1.1.17    Report on trends in the industry and local markets.
1.1.18    Budget, plan, and execute cost-effective and productive sales trips at least 45 days prior to your trip.
1.1.19    Maintain a calendar allowing you to meet all established deadlines and planned sales trips. Regular deadlines include (but are not limited to) the monthly forecast and expect-to-turn reports.
1.1.20    Maintain accurate information on all new and on-going leads and accounts, including solicitation efforts.
1.1.21    Plan and execute cost-effective and productive sales trips into your assigned territory, to improve and increase our penetration of that market.
1.1.22    Contact and entertain clients during their site visits and through invitations to contacts within his/her respective segment.
1.1.23    Ensures that all incoming correspondence (inquiries, requests, offers, confirmations, etc.) are attended to and replied in due time.
1.1.24    Prepares and transmits the Call Reports on a weekly basis to the DOS.
1.1.25    Establishes a Monthly Report which includes the summary of the past activities, prospection and trends, and analyses competitor’s sales and promotion efforts, forecast for all sales activities & production/conversion figures. Attends once a month hotel’s Sales/Rooms Division and Credit meeting.
1.1.26    Targets to achieve key figures from key accounts / key markets through preparation and execution of proper action plan for his/her field of responsibility.
1.1.27    Establishes and signs contracts considering the official Rate Policy in co-ordination with the DOS.
1.1.28    Conducts rate market surveys to advise management of actual market trends.
1.1.29    Special deals (out of guidelines and rate policy) must in any case be discussed, co-ordinated and approved prior to offer with the hotel’s management.
1.1.30    Thoroughly familiarizes oneself with the Hotel’s emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
1.1.31    He/she is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
1.1.32    Other duties as assigned.
1.1.33    Perform duties in a manner that respects Rixos Hotels & Resorts’ Core Behaviours which are Trust, Relationship, Entrepreneurship and Drive.
1.1.34    Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings.
1.1.35    Carry out any other reasonable task (which may not be stated here) as requested.


Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Diploma in vocational hospitality, 3 –4 years’ experience in 4-5-star Hotel
