Job Description

The purpose of a Business Development Sales Manager is new business development, coverage in Group Sales primarily, management of assigned territory for all sales prospecting, lead management and other sales and marketing revenue driving roles as necessary. Business Development Sales Manager will actively conduct prospecting efforts to assist in generating new business opportunities primarily for the group segment (full Group Sales Team) along with other revenue streams for the hotel including Catering and Business Travel. Handle Group team market coverage in the absence of Sales Manager. This will include all size bookings 8-250 rooms on peak for all market segments. Handle all social room blocks for events not taking place at the hotel – selling and possibly servicing and handle all group blocks between 8 and 15 rooms peak night regardless of geographical territory.


Qualifications

EDUCATION: A Bachelor of Arts degree or college diploma is required.  Progressive experience in a similar capacity is a definite asset.  College course work in related field is helpful.

 

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: Must possess a working knowledge of personal computers.  Understanding of Opera Software and hotel Property Management Systems is helpful. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.  Ability to assemble and understand integrated spreadsheets. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary work.  Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects, and long hours sometimes may be required.
