We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Business Development Manager with hotel experience and a history of delivering outstanding results in the accommodation, conference and event markets.
Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the ideal person for this role will be hungry for success and love the challenge involved in winning business, while thriving in a competitive environment to maximise revenue potential and optimise business for the Resort.This is an exciting fixed term part time opportunity for an innovative and motivated sales person to join a driven Sales & Marketing team at Mercure Gold Coast Resort, an oasis located amongst expansive gardens on the Gold Coast.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Build, develop and foster relationships with clients, identify and convert sales leads into new business opportunities,
- Conduct market research to source new MICE business for the resort,
- Proactive sales for new clients and define their potential to the business, conduct sales appointments, inter-state sales trips and host networking events, site inspections and famils,
- Liaise with Accor Pacific National Sales to ensure access to key accounts and maximise any sales opportunities,
- Maintain effective communication with the Director of Sales and Marketing, providing market intelligence on a regular basis and an understanding of competitor strengths, weaknesses and ongoing sales activities.
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:
- A proven record of accomplishment of delivering outstanding results in a similar business environment,
- An understanding of the South East Queensland hotel and events market,
- Excellent analytical and communication skills,
- a strong understanding of online distribution, ecommerce and digital marketing,
- a high level of organisational and computer skills,
- A working knowledge of PMS and Sales Systems including Opera and ANAIS or similar.
