BREAKFAST DEMI CHEF (FULL TIME) | MERCURE GOLD COAST RESORT

A 292-room hotel, spanning over 3.5 hectares of manicured gardens with significant food & beverage operations, two resort pools and extensive conference facilities, Mercure Gold Coast Resort is an oasis located amongst expansive gardens on the Gold Coast. 

Overlooking the Resort’s pool and ninth Hole of the Palm Meadows Golf Course, ‘The Green Dining’ welcomes our guests.  A blend of internal and unique outdoor conference spaces the Resort is limited only by our guest’s imagination.

Our chefs ensure that each meal period is to standard, being creative and responsive to changes in seasons, guest preferences and updating menu items regularly. Reporting to the Executive Chef this is a role for a Demi level chef to join our Breakfast team.


Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Prepare mis-en place as required
  • Ensure consistent great food production, in line with the high quality standards set by the Resort.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage and assist with ordering necessary food items
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure all equipment is maintained

Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Trade qualified (minimum Certificate III Commercial Cookery) and have Demi-Chef level experience
  • A genuine passion for food and displaying very high standards of production and presentation
  • A working understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The capacity to multi task and cope well under pressure 
  • A reliable colleague who genuinely enjoys those early morning starts!
  • Availability to, on rare occasions, work non-breakfast shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays as per our business demands.
  • Current working rights within Australia
