Job Description

Are you an experienced housekeeping professional with a passion for delivering exceptional standards? Do you enjoy leading teams, maintaining impeccable attention to detail and creating a positive working environment?

We are looking for an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Executive Housekeeper in leading our Housekeeping team. This is an exciting opportunity to help maintain the exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards expected within our five-star luxury resort while developing and inspiring a high-performing team.

What you will be doing: 

As one of two Assistant Housekeeping Managers, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping department, ensuring our guest rooms and public areas consistently exceed expectations.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Executive Housekeeper with the daily operation of the Housekeeping department.
  • Leading, coaching and developing the Housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service and presentation standards.
  • Assisting with recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of colleagues.
  • Ensuring all housekeeping procedures are followed in line with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carrying out regular inspections of guest bedrooms and public areas, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Supporting colleagues during busy periods and assisting with cleaning duties where required.
  • Coordinating mandatory training and maintaining accurate training records.
  • Ensuring housekeeping equipment is maintained, cleaned and used safely.
  • Monitoring colleague presentation to ensure grooming and uniform standards are consistently met.
  • Supporting the management of agency colleagues when required.
  • Assisting with staffing levels, rotas and timesheet management to meet operational demands.
  • Helping to manage departmental payroll, purchasing, stock control and operational budgets.
  • Monitoring linen, cleaning supplies and housekeeping stock levels to ensure efficient ordering and cost control.
  • Building strong working relationships across departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Conducting regular team briefings and supporting supervisors to maintain effective communication throughout the department.

Qualifications

About You:

We're looking for someone who leads by example and takes pride in delivering exceptional standards.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience within a hotel housekeeping environment.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high personal standards.
  • Experience managing stock, budgets and operational costs.
  • A positive, hands-on approach with the flexibility to support the team whenever needed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, in line with business needs.
