Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Director of Finance to join our team in the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. In this key leadership role, you will work closely with the Director of Finance to oversee the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning.

  • Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide financial support and develop short and long-term financial plans
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for management, corporate office, and owners
  • Manage the month-end closing process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, capital budgets, and rolling forecasts
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and risk management procedures
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, fiscal regulations, and company policies
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Assist in conducting regular operational risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
  • Support the Director of Finance in driving financial literacy across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and financial software
  • Outstanding leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information to various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience in performance management and implementing financial controls
  • Strong understanding of risk management and compliance in a corporate setting
  • Ability to adapt to and thrive in an international work environment
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Vietnamese is a must
  • Willingness to relocate to Phu Quoc, Vietnam, and embrace island living
