Job Description

Talent & Culture Advisor
First impressions are everything! As the Talent & Culture Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for our internal guests, ensuring they Feel Welcome from the moment they connect with you.

What you will be doing:

  • Drive and lead the full cycle recruitment process for all vacancies at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
  • Ensure a smooth flow of the recruitment process, including screening potential applicants, coordinating interview with Department Heads, conducting reference checks, background checks and offers of employment as required
  • Assist each department in developing quality onboarding and ongoing departmental training plans and learning activities; maintain active follow-up through on-going coaching and guidance and support
  • Champion colleague development and coach department leaders to organize and deliver learning on an on-going basis
  • Ensure successful advertising and marketing to attract top talent and take ownership of the Hotel’s social media recruitment strategy
  • Educate and support managers responsible for hiring as to the hotel’s recruitment policies and philosophy
  • Coordinate and promote the Company’s Talent Scout internal referral programs 
  • Provide monthly statistics and reports
  • Must live, breath, eat, and sleep Fairmont’s Mission, Vision and Values!
  • Act as an internal consultant to provide expert coaching and direction on HR policy, programs, employee relations, legislation, employment standards, human rights and compensation
  • Be a role model within the hotel and demonstrate professional leadership skills that are fully aligned and in support of our culture
  • Assisting with general support for HR office (including front counter and benefits) and any other projects as required

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous operational hospitality experience, minimum 2 years, is required – previous leadership experience is a strong asset
  • Proven communication and facilitation skills
  • Computer literacy and excellent skills with all Microsoft Window applications required
  • Ability to be independent with the ability to influence all levels of the organization; and drive key initiatives while working cohesively as part of a larger team
  • Exceptionally organized, disciplined, proactive and innovative
  • Proven experience with creating and executing full-cycle processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • Driven and energetic self-starter who thrives on a challenge

Additional Information

Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
