Job Description

  • Reporting to the Director of Talent & Culture, responsible for overseeing the overall recruitment process
  • Implements, reviews and updates recruiting procedures by taking charge of personnel requisitions, replacements, promotions, transfers, deployment, and resignations with reference to the payroll and headcount budget
  • Monitors present and future trends in the local labor situation, social legislation and makes recommendations to the management
  • Plans and ensures timely use of different recruitment methods such as media advertisement, through hospitality institutions, agencies, executive search and internal notices to meet the manpower needs of the Hotel
  • Researches and selects effective job advertising channels and sourcing methods
  • Creates and publishes job ads
  • Screens resumes and job applications; creates shortlist of applicants
  • Provides interviewing guidance to hiring managers
  • Recommends ways to enhance the employer brand
  • Hosts and engages in job fairs and career events
  • Cultivates professional networks through HR associations , colleges and other partners
  • Handles new visa application and manages renewal deadlines for foreign staff
  • Prepares new contracts and handles contract renewals for fixed-term staff
  • Supports translations between foreign staff and Japanese staff
  • Translates T&C-related contracts and memorandums of understanding into English, as needed
  • Ensures exit interviews are conducted and uses feedback from interviews to recommend team member retention
  • Maintains a database of potential candidates for future job openings
  • Ensures that all employees comply with the hotel policies and procedures as well as government regulations pertaining to employment practice
  • Prepares and submits periodic Talent & Culture reports to management
  • Prepares and issues correspondences relating to the Talent & Culture Department
  • Ensure communication of Talent & Culture related matters by updating the T&C notice boards regularly
  • Maximizes the use of the T&C systems, providing all necessary reports as required
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual T&C Budget and closely monitors expenses in line with the budget

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-year work experience in similar capacity
  • Strong Japanese and English communications skills (speak, read and write)
  • Knowledge of Japan labor legislations and visa handling
  • Experience in conducting phone and in-person interviews, screening and evaluating candidates
  • Sound decision-making capabilities
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and professional networks
  • Proficiency in using HR databases, applicant tracking system and MS Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit
