Job Description

The Regional Director Finance – Ennismore MEAIT will drive communications with the field, will lead the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process, and will implement region-wide finance and accounting improvements to achieve consistency, maximize efficiency and optimize returns to owners and investors.

What you’ll do in the role…

Company Growth & Performance

  • Facilitate all pre-opening in conjunction with the Director of Openings, Operational leaders and People & Culture team and launching as well as closings.
  • Establish processes for analysing and reporting on hotel performance and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, build support for and implement accounting/technology initiatives that align with the Company’s strategies and lead to positive business results.
  • Assist in formulating strategic business plans by region and by property and support operational tactical initiatives.
  • Develop key financial performance measures that support the Company's overarching strategic direction.
  • Facilitate cross-company communication to share best practices and leverage organizational resources.
  • Supervise regional accounting teams
  • Embrace a continuous growth environment by actively assisting in recruiting and maintaining strong financial leaders, such as Directors of Finance, Controllers, Assistant Controllers, Accounting Managers, and other managers for the organization in conjunction with the property General Managers.

Financial Review

  • Manage and coordinate actuals, budget, forecast on a daily, monthly quarterly and annual reporting activities for the region in conjunction with the property Directors of Finance
  • Organize and execute the MEAIT region’s budget process and reforecast
  • Work closely with the People & Culture team during budget reviews and throughout the year to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities    
  • Oversee the delivery of ad-hoc financial information as requested by regional office
  • Monitor, review and provide commentary on P&L revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, cash balances and cash forecasts
  • Provide financial modelling and analysis in support with regards to new opening hotels
  • Weekly and monthly review of combined accounts receivable and payable ageing of each hotel.             
  • Review country-based contracts for all hotels and purchase of OPEX and CAPEX items for all hotels as per HMA Limits       
  • Coordinate and ensure proper communication with the Global Head of Hotel Finance & Performance
  • Develop best practice financial accounting, control procedures, and continually review the process and procedures to maximize impact and efficiency.
  • Assists in the implementation of a system of appropriate controls to manage business risks.     
  • Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
  • Review all hotel periodical and monthly Balance Sheets, P&L, reporting packs to ensure reconciliation are accurate prior to submission       

Risk & Compliance

  • Support and ensure compliance with the capital request process.
  • Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes for all properties.  Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items
  • Work with the People & Culture team to ensure that controls are in place with regards to payroll, visas, contracts under the correct entity
  • Oversee hotel-level transaction processing systems and ensure compliance with Company policies.
  • Review the activities of independent auditors and assist with various external and internal audits to ensure on-going compliance.
  • Create and implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance property controls.
  • Maintain and continuously improve systems of internal control to safeguard assets across the portfolio.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the Company’s risk profile.
  • Monitor and provide data pertaining to various risk/liability or legal issues involving the Company.
  • Ensure that Company record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
  • Flag to Global Head of Hotel Finance and Performance any deviations found, with solutions
  • Ensure 100% Compliance with Accor/Ennismore policies and procedures.
  • Prior to any internal or external audit findings pro-actively review and train the hotel teams where needed.

Management

  • Coaching & mentoring all hotel finance leaders (where required) to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting that can assist in hotel performance review monthly basis.

 


Qualifications

Required experience

  • Ideally 5-10 years in a Cluster Director Finance role managing multiple properties
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders and building relationships with owners, peers and other Finance leaders
  • Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure
