Public Area Cleaner

Purpose 

As a Public Area Assistant, you are a valuable member of our Maintenance team, responsible for keeping our shared spaces exceptionally clean with the main focus on the upkeep of the gardens and facilities. You will feel at ease working both independently and alongside your team members and enjoy engaging with guests, helping them with any questions or requests they may have.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure the property always looks its best, inside and out
• Embrace the Gardening and Facilities up keep, sprucing up both indoor and outdoor public areas (including pools and extensive grounds) to meet our high cleanliness and presentation standards
• Expertly handle specialised equipment and chemicals with safety in mind and have a basic level of horticulture knowledge as well as in using basic hand and power tools
• Be responsible for maintaining the Gardens and Grassed areas in accordance with the seasons, ensuring areas always kept in a tidy and lush condition
• Offering help to guests with inquiries and security matters, and collaborating with different departments to accomplish tasks
• Be the eyes and ears for our maintenance and guest services teams, reporting any issues promptly, from maintenance problems, to damaged equipment and missing items

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role maintaining gardens, lawns and shrubs is a must!
• Your communication style is warm and welcoming, making both guests and team members feel at ease
• You have an eye for detail and work efficiently, managing your time well and taking pride in your tasks
• You have the ability to work unsupervised and to plan your tasks around inclement weather
• Adaptability and physical fitness to work primarily in external environments, completing mowing, weeding, trimming and pruning as well as ability to drive a small tractor to put the large waste bins in and out for collection each day
• You enjoy collaborating with colleagues from various backgrounds
• Reliable transportation and availability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays starting at 6am each morning in most cases
