Job Description

First impressions are everything! Your engaging smile and personality are the essence of a great Overnight Front Desk Agent at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. As you personally greet our guests and assist them, you will be empowered to deliver on our mission of “Turning moments into memories” for our guests. As our Night Auditor, you will thrive working on site with our overnight team to ensure guest safety and satisfaction while also completing the end-of-day accounting duties. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance.
  • Ensures guests are recognized upon arrival, receiving a warm greeting and appropriate assistance
  • Efficiently handle check-in and check-out procedures, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist guests with inquiries, requests and reservations, providing information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions
  • Reconcile the day’s revenue balances and ensures payments to the guest ledger are processed
  • Balance all PM accounts and prepare Promo Account receipts, by account number
  • Verify all daily transactions and audit for discrepancies or errors
  • Prepare daily reports and complete system back-ups per established guidelines and procedures
  • Ensures Fairmont standards, procedures, and practices (LQA, Forbes, etc.) are followed by providing the highest quality of service, attention to detail and care required
  • Maintains communication with all departments of the hotel
  • Promotes positive colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication trust and mutual respect
  • Performs any and all other tasks which are assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
  • Previous front desk or customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities and handle a multitude of tasks, colleagues and guest requests
  • Passion for guest service and strong guest service orientation required
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
  • Proficiency in Windows XP and MS Office required
  • Ability to work a variety of hours/days/holidays/weekends as business needs require
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs at shoulder height
  • Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
