Laundry Supervisor

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the critical daily operations of the hotel's laundry and dry-cleaning services, ensuring optimal workflow efficiency and maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Provide leadership and professional development for laundry staff, including meticulous scheduling, comprehensive performance evaluations, and continuous skill enhancement.
- Rigorously enforce and maintain stringent hygiene and safety standards in strict accordance with hotel policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct precise monitoring and control of linen, towel, uniform, and cleaning supply inventories, executing timely procurement to prevent shortages.
- Implement and uphold rigorous quality control measures to guarantee all laundered items consistently meet or exceed the hotel's exacting standards.
- Facilitate seamless interdepartmental coordination, particularly with Housekeeping and Food & Beverage, to fulfill their critical linen and uniform requirements.
- Diligently oversee the maintenance and repair of laundry equipment, ensuring regular servicing to minimize operational disruptions.
- Formulate and execute strategic initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce operational costs without compromising the hotel's commitment to quality.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety guidelines in the handling and storage of laundry chemicals, minimizing potential risks.
- Exercise prudent financial management of the laundry budget, including meticulous expense monitoring and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction by promptly addressing and resolving any laundry-related requests or complaints.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of laundry operations, including detailed productivity metrics, chemical usage data, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices, providing well-researched recommendations for operational improvements.
- Foster a collaborative relationship with the Housekeeping Manager to ensure the seamless integration of laundry services within the hotel's overall operational framework.
- Champion and implement environmentally responsible practices in laundry operations, aligning with the hotel's broader sustainability objectives and corporate social responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary education, preferably in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Minimum 3 years Laundry experience preferably in a luxury hotel environment with 1 year at a supervisory level
- Proven experience in managing large-scale laundry operations and dry-cleaning services
- In-depth knowledge of industrial laundry equipment, chemicals, and processes
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in laundry operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including scheduling and performance management
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in inventory management and budget control
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with laundry management software
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- OSHA certification in workplace safety preferred
