      Job Description

      General Cashier

      As the General Cashier at Hawar Resort, you will be responsible for overseeing all cash handling operations and ensuring the accurate recording and management of cash transactions. Your meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to financial integrity will contribute to the smooth operation of the resort's financial processes.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Manage all cash handling activities, including receiving, disbursing, and recording cash transactions at various resort outlets and departments.
      • Prepare and reconcile daily cash reports, ensuring that cash balances match receipts and that any discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved.
      • Maintain accurate records of cash transactions, including cash receipts, disbursements, and petty cash funds, and ensure that they are properly documented and archived.
      • Coordinate with front office, food and beverage, and other departments to ensure that cash handling procedures are followed consistently and that cashiers are properly trained on cash handling policies and procedures.
      • Conduct regular audits of cash registers, safe deposits, and cash drawers to verify accuracy and compliance with cash handling policies and procedures.
      • Assist in the preparation of bank deposits and ensure that they are made in a timely manner, in accordance with resort policies and banking regulations.
      • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to cash handling and financial management, and incorporate new knowledge into the resort's operations as appropriate.
      • Liaise with the accounting department and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate recording and reporting of cash transactions in the general ledger.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
      • Proven experience in cash handling or a related role within the hospitality industry, with a strong understanding of cash handling procedures and controls.
      • Excellent numerical and mathematical skills, with the ability to accurately reconcile cash transactions and identify discrepancies.
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
      • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office suite, with experience in cash register systems preferred.
      • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
      • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
