Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Working with Department Managers to develop effective measures to enhance their department’s profitability
  • Ensuring internal controls and credit limits are maintained
  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly accounts
  • Maintaining general ledger
  • Ensuring bank reconciliation is kept up to date
  • Involvement in BAS and other tax requirements 
  • Administer and handle all cash taking and credit card payment received by the hotel
  • Administer, maintain and monitor multiple cash handling machines and assist all departments the use of cash machine
  • Reconcile daily collections, identify, investigate and report discrepancies
  • Accurately maintain and perform internal audits
  • Manage petty cash funds and crew allowances ensuring that proper procedures are followed before cash is issued and reimbursed
  • Assist accounts receivable and/or payable matters for the hotel
  • Support Purchasing Department
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Currently completing or have recently finished your qualifications in Finance and/or Accounting and wish to become a Certified Public Accountant
  • Naturally analytical and have the capacity to multi task
  • The ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational & time management skills
  • Has the confidence in communicating with various stakeholders as this role requires you to liaise with a variety of different groups at varying levels within our organisation
  • Have a high level of attention to detail
  • Team player with high level of initiative & the ability to work autonomously
  • Flexible with the desire to work and grow in a passionate & ambitious team
  • Knowledge of Payroll System (Wage Easy and Human Force)
  • Understanding of Sun System for General Ledger
  • Understanding of Purchase Plus is advantageous
