This is an exciting new position within Ennismore’s growing portfolio of lifestyle brands, representing the first Morgans Originals hotel in Egypt.


Job Description

At Portaluna, A Morgans Originals Hotel, our Director of Sales is more than a revenue driver—they are a connector, a storyteller, and a strategist. At the heart of positioning, launching, and driving Portaluna’s success, you’ll lead sales initiatives that amplify our brand, grow revenue, and ensure every partnership feels personal, purposeful, and unforgettable. You’ll ensure every market segment is reached with impact, while upholding the highest standards of brand presence, client relationships, and business growth.

This role is about sales excellence with a creative edge: delivering results while shaping the stories, partnerships, and guest experiences that make Portaluna truly unforgettable.

What you’ll do...

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop & execute sales plans and targets for all segments: corporate, leisure, groups, events.

  • Build and lead the sales team to deliver high results, setting KPIs, coaching, and performance management.

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure key business accounts, local & international.

  • Represent Portaluna at trade shows, sales missions, networking events.

Marketing & Brand Positioning

  • Define brand identity & positioning in line with Morgans Originals’ DNA — original, culture‑infused, social, imaginative.

  • Oversee pre‑opening campaign strategy across digital, social media, PR, print, and on‑property channels.

  • Forge partnerships with media, influencers, and local culture stakeholders to build anticipation.

  • Monitor marketing ROI; adjust tactics based on performance & market feedback.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, demographic & psychographic segmentation.

  • Define pricing strategy, packages, and positioning relative to comparable lifestyle, boutique, and luxury offerings.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with revenue management, operations, design & guest experience, PR, and cultural programming teams to ensure commercial alignment.

  • Ensure consistent brand experience across all touchpoints: guest journey, visual identity, digital presence.

Reporting & Governance

  • Provide regular reports to ownership and corporate leadership on sales, marketing performance, market trends, and projections.

  • Ensure all legal, brand, compliance, and ESG (environmental, social, governance) requirements are met.

What Success Looks Like Pre‑Opening

  • A clear, differentiated brand identity is established in the market, with growing awareness and anticipation.

  • Pre‑opening leads / bookings are strong (groups, events, corporate) before doors open.

  • Sales & marketing team is assembled, trained, and performing.

  • Marketing investments are delivering strong ROI, early metrics look promising.

  • Seamless alignment between sales, marketing, operations, and guest experience so that opening week and beyond meet brand standards.


Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • Proven experience in sales leadership roles within luxury or lifestyle hotels.

  • Strong business acumen with a results-driven mindset and a flair for creative solutions.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; a natural relationship-builder.

  • Strategic thinker who can balance long-term growth with short-term revenue goals.

  • Confident, decisive, and composed in high-pressure or fast-paced situations.

  • Proficient in hotel sales systems and CRM platforms; good computer literacy.

  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

  • Flexible to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and events.

  • Embodies the Morgans Originals spirit: bold, innovative, approachable, and always looking to do things differently.
