About the role:

The Director of Marketing will drive the strategic vision and execution of all marketing and communications activities for Rixos Phu Quoc. This leader will position the resort as Vietnam’s premier luxury destination, ensuring brand consistency, market competitiveness, and strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities:

General Marketing

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the hotel’s annual marketing and communications plan, setting clear objectives, budgets, and timelines aligned with business goals.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and guest feedback to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing and communications team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Track, analyse, and report on campaign effectiveness, ROI, and KPIs, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Allocate and manage marketing budgets to ensure optimal resource utilisation and maximise return on investment.
  • Ensure clear and consistent internal communication regarding marketing initiatives and results.

Brand Management

  • Maintain and enforce the hotel’s brand guidelines, ensuring all messaging, visual identity, and customer experiences are consistent across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Act as the hotel’s brand champion, promoting its unique character, offerings, and value proposition.
  • Execute the brand identity guidelines and ensure all marketing materials adhere to brand standards.
  • Introduce brand activation opportunities and initiatives in line with the brand and property positioning.

Public Relations

  • Develop and execute PR strategies to generate favourable media coverage, manage press inquiries, and build relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Coordinate and host press trips, media events, and promotional activities; ensure press kits are comprehensive and up-to-date.
  • Act as the hotel’s spokesperson during crises, manage communication strategies, and provide media training to staff.
  • Champion partnerships and promote social and environmental initiatives to enhance the hotel’s community profile.

Digital Marketing

  • Work closely with the Global Digital Team to create and manage digital marketing initiatives, including SEM, PPC, and online advertising, to drive brand.com bookings.
  • Oversee electronic distribution strategies, manage listings on OTA platforms and local directories, and optimise online revenue.
  • With the support of the Global Digital Team, monitor and analyse digital campaigns and website performance.
  • Manage local online presence across all relevant platforms.
  • Work closely with sales, revenue management, and external agencies to align digital efforts with overall business goals.

Content Marketing

  • Oversee the production and distribution of high-quality content, including website copy, social media content and marketing collateral.
  • Develop content calendars to ensure consistent, engaging, and on-brand messaging across all channels, promoting a unified brand presence.
  • Initiate and supervise photography and videography for advertising, PR, and digital content, maintaining a comprehensive media library.

 

 

Influencer Marketing

  • Develop and manage influencer marketing programs to boost brand awareness and drive bookings through authentic, trusted voices.
  • Identify, select, and collaborate with influencers whose values align with the hotel’s brand and target audience.
  • Provide clear creative briefs and outline content usage rights for influencer partnerships.
  • Define campaign goals, establish deliverables, and measure the impact of influencer collaborations on brand visibility and revenue.
  • Encourage influencers to leave reviews and generate social proof on travel websites.

Social Media

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to build brand awareness, engage audiences, and drive direct bookings.
  • Create visually stunning and engaging content, manage editorial calendars, and curate user-generated content.
  • Manage daily social media activities, engage with followers, respond to comments, and build an active online community.
  • Oversee all social media platforms, staying updated on trends and algorithm changes.
  • Consistently track KPIs and adjust strategies based on performance.

Event Marketing & Partnerships

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns for hotel events, special offers, and promotions to drive occupancy and revenue.
  • Negotiate with sponsors and build strategic relationships with local businesses, tourism boards, and industry partners to explore co-marketing opportunities.
  • Track and analyse event data to gauge marketing success and inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with event planners and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and effective communication.

Loyalty Marketing

  • Develop strategies to increase member participation and retention through personalised offers, exclusive benefits, and targeted communications.
  • Utilise customer data to segment audiences and tailor loyalty initiatives for maximum impact.
  • Work closely with sales, guest relations, and operations to integrate loyalty programs into all guest touchpoints.
  • Champion “test & learn” strategies to continuously improve and innovate loyalty marketing efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, Business, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7-0 years' experience in progressive marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within luxury hospitality or destination marketing.
  • Proven track record of successful marketing campaigns in the hospitality industry
  • Extensive experience in luxury or lifestyle hotel marketing
  • Demonstrated expertise across all marketing functions
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and mentor a marketing team.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English; additional language skills are a plus (Vietnamese)
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and CRM systems
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning for marketing departments
  • Strong network of industry contacts and relationships with key media outlets
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required.
