ROLE: Director of Finance

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:

 

  • Organization and monitoring of all affairs concerned to the position.
  • Proper grooming at all times

  • To prepare and be involved in the control of all aspects of Budgets, Operating Equipment Purchases and other Finance and Business related activities as may be necessary.
  • Maintain a monthly reconciliation with owners on the yearly budget and confirm full closing balance within requested period.
  • Regularly report to Regional office the progress and update on the critical path and ensure a success by completing 100% of project plan.
  • Establish and build a strong professional relationship with owners and their representatives.
  • Coordinate and plan with IT department system setup, implementation and trainings.
  • Understand the full term of the management agreement and ensure compliance with all key clauses.
  • Prepare cash flow projection and working capital requirements.
  • Prepare operation budget.
  • Establish a strong cash management controls, prepare monthly cash flow forecast, and recommend actions accordingly.
  • Supervises the maintenance of and co-ordinate with Regional Director of Finance hotel accounting procedures and controls in compliance with Rixos policies & procedures as well as local requirements.
  • Daily communication with management regarding control for expense and income potentials. Makes all studies and/or reports required by the General Manager, Regional or Corp. Management.
  • Works with all departments of the hotel in any function directly or indirectly pertaining to expense and finance. Keeps them informed of their departmental expenses and investigates all items that appear questionable.
  • Staffs, trains, supervise, evaluate and upgrades controller department employees.
  • Checks, supervises and controls all purchases, disbursements, payroll and expense of the hotel.
  • Maintains a basic knowledge of all local laws pertaining to hotel operations and communicates with General Manager and Regional Direcotr of Finance on any pending changes.
  • Maintaining and keeping up to date all tenant leases, contracts, licenses, permits, insurance and mortgage documents and ascertains compliance therewith.
  • Works with Personnel Department on payroll control, payroll budgets and procedures.
  • Initiates, supervises and spot checks all stocks taken of inventories and fixed assets.
  • Supervises and works with the Credit Manager in minimizing overdue balances and losses arising from delinquent accounts and to minimize losses arising from uncollected guests and city ledger accounts.
  • To attend and actively participate in credit meetings.
  • Supervises the preparation and timely submission of all required tax returns and other reports to government authorities and owning companies in accordance with regulations and contractual agreements.
  • Seeks advice and guidance from Local Counsel, external Auditors, Local Officials and other deemed necessary.
  • Submits tax returns and other government reports to the proper authorities on a timely basis.
  • To issue the Monthly Financial Report as well as all the documents required by the company.
  • To ensure that all reports to the Owning Company and Rixos are accomplished on a timely basis.
  • Attend training classes as per schedule
  • Show fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments
  • Is aware of the daily activities and has product knowledge of all the hotel facilities.
  • Co-ordination and information with the other related Department Heads.
  • Maintains a monthly overview of vacation- and public holiday balance of all his/her staff and delivers a monthly consolidated summary to the Personnel Manager.
  • Assumes responsibility of Duty Manager when scheduled to do so.
  • Conducts skills/technical training within his/her area of responsibility on regular basis.
  • Ensures all staff in his area of responsibility is thoroughly familiar with the Hotel's emergency and security procedures.
  • Maintains a monthly overview of vacation- and public holiday balance of all his/her staff and delivers a monthly consolidated summary to the Director of HR.
  • Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience in a senior finance management role, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in hospitality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
