Job Description

What do we expect from you?

Mondrian Abu Dhabi is poised to redefine luxury, and we are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Finance to lead our financial operations during the pre-opening phase. In this critical role, you will oversee all financial aspects of the property, ensuring financial controls, forecasting, budgeting, and profitability. Your expertise will be pivotal in establishing a strong financial foundation and supporting the long-term success of Mondrian Abu Dhabi.

How your day looks like:

  • Lead the pre-opening financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure the financial stability and profitability of the hotel.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining the highest service standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of budgets, ensuring effective financial planning across all departments.
  • Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve revenue and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate policies.
  • • Provide leadership in setting pricing strategies for rooms, F&B, wellness, and events to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Work alongside department heads to ensure all financial objectives are met and exceeded, implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including auditors, banks, and vendors.
  • Implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.
  • Develop financial models and forecasts for future business decisions, helping guide strategic initiatives.

This role requires strategic vision, effective leadership, and a strong focus on optimizing financial performance, all while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving revenue and profitability growth.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Financial management, with at least 3 years in a Director-level role, ideally in a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
  • Experience working in a truly global work environment is essential.
  • Proven pre-opening experience with a strong track record of financial leadership and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional knowledge of financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and align them with organizational goals.
  • Expertise in financial reporting systems, Excel, and hospitality financial software (e.g., OPERA).
  • In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry’s financial landscape, including room revenue, F&B, and event sales.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing attention to detail with the need for swift decision-making.
