Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Cluster Director of Purchasing to lead procurement operations for Raffles & Fairmont The Red Sea in Umluj, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee purchasing strategies across our luxury hospitality properties, driving operational excellence, cost optimization, and vendor relationship management while maintaining the exceptional standards our brands are known for worldwide.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies and procurement plans for the cluster properties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and brand standards
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable supply chain performance
  • Oversee inventory management and optimize stock levels across properties to minimize waste while ensuring product availability
  • Lead and mentor the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development
  • Analyze spending patterns and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and sustainability standards in all procurement activities
  • Collaborate with department heads and property managers to understand operational needs and deliver tailored purchasing solutions
  • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare detailed reports on procurement metrics, vendor performance, and budget utilization
  • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers while maintaining relationships with existing partners to ensure quality and reliability
  • Customize procurement processes to meet the unique requirements of luxury hospitality operations while maintaining efficiency

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the hospitality or luxury sector
  • Proven experience managing procurement operations across multiple properties or a cluster environment
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to optimize costs without compromising quality
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, procurement software, and data analysis tools
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities with experience building and developing high-performing teams
  • Advanced knowledge of vendor management, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management
  • Comprehensive understanding of hospitality procurement, inventory management, and supply chain coordination
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across all organizational levels
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong attention to accuracy and compliance
  • Knowledge of local Saudi Arabian market conditions and business practices is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis applications

  • Understanding of Ultra-Luxury guest expectations and brand alignment.
  • experience in project coordination, scheduling, and document control during pre-Opening stages.
  • Experience in pre-Opening is a must.
  • A proactive, anticipatory approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
