Job Description

This position is responsible for the overall financial management of Pullman Maldives Maamutaa and Mercure Maldives Kooddoo, including financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development and maintenance of robust internal accounting controls and procedures. The role ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for all cluster entities.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across all properties.
  • Implement and maintain internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, addressing findings promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for regulatory and tax compliance.
  • Lead and mentor finance teams across the cluster, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
  • Coordinate with property-level finance teams to standardize processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Cluster General Manager, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to optimize costs and maximize revenue.
  • Present financial results and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for each property.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budget, identifying corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a multi-property or cluster environment, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different locations and cultures
