Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef De Partie - Pastry to join our culinary team in Cairo, Egypt. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for creating exquisite pastries and desserts that delight our guests and uphold our reputation for excellence. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with creative innovation to deliver consistently outstanding pastry creations while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and operational efficiency.

  • Prepare and present a wide range of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods with meticulous attention to detail and visual appeal
  • Collaborate with the head chef and sous chef to develop new menu items and refine existing recipes, contributing creative ideas for special events and seasonal offerings
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in the pastry kitchen at all times
  • Manage inventory effectively, place orders, and control costs for pastry ingredients and supplies while maintaining quality standards
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, fostering their skill development and supporting their professional growth
  • Ensure consistent quality, portion control, and presentation of all pastry items across all service periods
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and seamless service delivery
  • Adapt to changing priorities and maintain efficiency during peak service times while demonstrating resilience under pressure
  • Stay current with pastry trends, techniques, and industry best practices to continually improve our offerings and maintain our competitive edge
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive kitchen culture that values teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Trade Qualification in Commercial Cookery or Patisserie, or completed culinary training/apprenticeship from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a Demi Chef or equivalent role in a pastry kitchen environment
  • Food Safety and Hygiene Certification (or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment)
  • Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, recipes, and current industry trends
  • Proven ability to create visually stunning and delicious desserts with consistent quality and presentation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in dessert presentation and flavor combinations
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment while maintaining composure
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to kitchen operations and staff interactions
  • Leadership capabilities and experience supervising or mentoring junior kitchen staff
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Attention to detail and unwavering commitment to consistent, high-quality output
