About the job…
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Novotel Surfers Paradise.
This is a Monday – Friday, Full Time position role, based at the property.
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, and supported by our Sales Executive, the role will be responsible for converting incoming leads and generating new business.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the top accounts for corporate, wholesale, inbound, retail, travel agent and MICE sectors.
- Supported by a close-knit team you will work with the Director of Sales and Marketing to assist in developing a strategic approach to ensure the acquisition of major business and partnership opportunities to achieve total hotel revenue targets.
- You will be responsible for managing proactive sales, driving conferencing business for the Hotel
- You will be required to stay up to date with key market information and trends, and use this to leverage current and new business.
- Ensure that all proposals, negotiation and contracts are issued in an efficient and professional manner, ensuring profitability guidelines are adhered to.
- Represent the property at conferences, tradeshows, networking events, familiarisations, sales missions and on-site inspections
- Implement a sales plan that includes both proactive and reactive initiatives to achieve business objectives and budgeted profits for the hotel
- Maintain and manage a client database
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales activities and results to Director of Sales and Marketing
About you…
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience with Delphi Sales Force, Opera PMS and or ANAIS is highly regarded
- Experience in a similar role, 200+ Room Hotel, in a results orientated business environments
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- You will have strong communication skills, verbal and written, and a naturally ambitious leader who is always seeking the next business opportunity
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher and MS PowerPoint
- Vibrant personality, professional and always well-presented
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work within a team environment
- Must have valid Australian work rights
