Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Assistant Financial Controller plays a key role in the day-to-day management of the Finance Department across the Darwin Airport Resort Properties. This role suits a finance professional who is as comfortable getting hands-on with reconciliations and reporting as they are building trust with Department Heads, ownership and colleagues across a multi-brand operation. 
 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Finance in managing, training and mentoring the Finance team.
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in line with Accor guidelines, including Market Segment/Share Analysis and Monthly Operating Statements.
  • Liaise with Department Heads across all three brands to identify cost-effective measures that enhance departmental profitability.
  • Oversee credit approval and collections, monitoring debtor balances and recovering outstanding debts.
  • Monitor and control payroll procedures and ensure cash handling policies are strictly followed.
  • Keep in-house ledgers balanced and complete monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage daily and monthly cashflow, and ensure Owner payments are reconciled and deposited on time per Management Agreements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, ensuring equal input from all Department Managers.
  • Support Year End Accounts preparation and oversee audits relating to financial standards and procedures.
  • Ensure Accor policies and internal controls are implemented

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a finance role within hospitality, hotels or a related multi-site environment.
  • A strong understanding of hotel operations, payroll, and financial reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective stakeholder relationships across departments and brands.
  • Experience guiding, training or mentoring finance team members, with a genuine interest in developing others.
  • High attention to detail and strong personal integrity, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and comfort operating across multiple brand standards within one team
