Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead the day-to-day accounting operations of the hotel. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the financial health of the business through effective accounting practices. The Chief Accountant oversees financial closing activities, reconciliations, compliance requirements, and accounting team performance while providing valuable financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor financial transactions and ensure accurate recording and classification of accounting entries.
  • Supervise and support the accounting team in daily operations and development.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Monitor cash flow, operating expenses, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required documentation.
  • Review payroll accounting entries and related reconciliations.
  • Ensure tax compliance and support the preparation of statutory filings.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and safeguard company assets.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and financial issues.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, government authorities, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper document retention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or related field.  Possess a valid CPA License
  • Previous experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar role within a hotel or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (Thai, English and Effective people management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and IFRS standards.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with accounting and SUN systems.
  • Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
