Duty Manager

Purpose

As Duty Manager, you will take the lead in orchestrating the Front Office Team, creating unforgettable guest experiences while maintaining a high level of team energy. Each day in this position promises opportunities where you connect with various departments, coordinate team engagement, oversee staff, expertly manage guest feedback, and swiftly resolve any challenges that arise. Location: Mantra Lake Tekapo, 1 Beauchamp Place, Lake Tekapo 7999, New Zealand

Contract: Permanent Full-Time

Pay Rate: NZD $29-30 hourly

Hours of Work: 30-48 hours weekly 

Minimum Qualifications or Experience: ANZSCO Skill Level 2 NZGF Diploma; or, minimum 3 years relevant experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Take the helm and guide the hotel's day-to-day operations with expertise
• Lead the Front Office Team like a mentor, nurturing their growth and skill-building in a supportive atmosphere
• Collaborate with guests, extending a helping hand to find solutions for any challenges that may arise
• Contribute to roster planning and preparation
• Embrace authenticity and let your unique self-shine in every shift
• This position will also be responsible for supporting the Housekeeping department. 

Skills and Experience 

• Demonstrated expertise in Hotel Operations, marked by a vibrant track record of assuming leadership roles as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager
• Knowledge of Sihot PMS is advantageous but not essential
• Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure, fuelled by epic organisational and time management skills
• Masterful in the art of both the written and spoken communication
• Capable of embracing a flexible rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
