Job Description

In the heart of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, where French elegance meets the vibrant energy of Sydney, a rare leadership opportunity awaits for a visionary storyteller who understands that luxury is not simply communicated, it is crafted, curated, and experienced.

We are searching for a Director of Marketing and Communications who believes that every message, image and campaign is an invitation into a world of sophistication. Reporting to the Director of Commercial, this is a role for someone who can translate the spirit of the Sofitel brand into compelling narratives that captivate global audiences while elevating the hotel’s reputation as one of the most distinguished luxury destinations in Australia.

At its essence, this role is about shaping how the hotel is seen, heard, and remembered. You will orchestrate the visual and written language of the property across every touchpoint, from beautifully designed print advertisements and refined promotional collateral to powerful sales presentations and creative campaigns that bring the hotel’s experiences to life. Each advertisement, directory listing and piece of promotional material will carry the unmistakable elegance of the brand, ensuring that every message feels intentional, inspiring and aligned with global standards.

Your creative leadership will extend to meaningful guest engagement through carefully crafted direct mail campaigns and bespoke promotional initiatives that connect with audiences around the world. From overseeing photoshoots overlooking Darling Harbour to curating the hotel’s visual library, you will ensure every image reflects the timeless elegance of the Sofitel experience. In the digital space, you will guide the evolution of the online presence of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, transforming the website into an inspiring destination that showcases the hotel’s sophistication before guests even arrive. Through strategic management of SEO, mobile experiences, email campaigns and digital storytelling, you will drive awareness and convert interest into bookings, while collaborating with brand, communications and regional teams to deliver creative assets that uphold Sofitel’s global identity and celebrate the distinctive character of Sydney.

With guests at the heart of every initiative, you will craft campaigns that go beyond promotion to create emotion and anticipation. Working closely with revenue and operational teams, you will deliver marketing initiatives across leisure, food & beverage and events that support commercial objectives while maintaining the highest standards of brand integrity and measurable return on investment. By staying attuned to industry trends and digital innovation, you will continuously refine campaigns, collaborate with global teams and agencies and drive improvements that elevate the hotel’s presence and performance.

Qualifications

  • Experienced Marketing and Communications professional, with a proven track record in luxury hospitality or similar.
