Role Overview
As a Waiter / Waitress – In Room Dining at Banyan Tree Dubai, you are responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences directly to guests in the comfort and privacy of their rooms and villas. You will ensure all orders are delivered with accuracy, efficiency, and genuine care, creating memorable moments through personalised and attentive service.
You are a key ambassador of the Banyan Tree brand, providing discreet, professional, and seamless in-room dining experiences that reflect the resort’s commitment to luxury hospitality and guest wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & In Room Dining Experience
- Deliver warm, personalised, and attentive service to guests throughout their in-room dining experience.
- Present menus, explain dishes, and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, ensuring all guest requirements and special requests are captured.
- Deliver orders promptly while maintaining presentation, quality, and service standards.
- Set up dining experiences in guest rooms, suites, and villas according to luxury service standards.
- Ensure guests’ comfort and satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Follow up with guests where appropriate to ensure satisfaction and address any additional needs.
Food & Beverage Knowledge
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary options.
- Provide recommendations on food and beverage selections, including wines, cocktails, and speciality offerings.
- Ensure all orders are checked for accuracy, presentation, and completeness before delivery.
- Maintain awareness of daily specials, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
- Communicate guest preferences and feedback to the relevant teams.
Order Delivery & Service Standards
- Prepare and arrange trays, trolleys, and service equipment according to established standards.
- Ensure food and beverages are delivered at the correct temperature and presented professionally.
- Set up tables, dining areas, and amenities according to guest preferences and service expectations.
- Clear used trays, trolleys, and equipment promptly while minimising disruption to guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of In Room Dining service areas and equipment.
Guest Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Kitchen, Stewarding, Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate special requests, allergies, preferences, and guest feedback effectively.
- Handle guest enquiries, requests, and concerns professionally, escalating when required.
- Maintain guest confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Sales & Revenue Support
- Promote additional food and beverage offerings, upgrades, and special experiences where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience through thoughtful recommendations.
- Support outlet revenue objectives through effective product knowledge and suggestive selling.
Operational Standards & Compliance
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure compliance with resort service standards, SOPs, and health and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas, equipment, and workspaces.
- Support smooth department operations during busy periods.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management to support the effective operation of the department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress, In Room Dining Attendant, or Food & Beverage Service Associate within a luxury hotel, resort, or fine dining environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
- Experience delivering personalised guest service in a luxury hospitality setting.
- Good spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
