Job Description

We invite you to step into our award winning Sofitel Spa, and deliver uniquely personalised Sofitel Spa journeys and luxury treatments to our guests.

  • Provide effective massage treatments, using a range of techniques that promote relaxation, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension and enhance sports performance 
  • Use other techniques, such as acupressure or Shiatsu, and complementary aids, such as infra-red lamps, wet compresses, ice, essential oils, and herbal and mineral therapies, to assist recovery
  • Carry out the beauty treatments to a high professional standard
  • Enjoy delivering five star treatment to our guests, with high attention to detail
  • Establish long-term relationships with local clientele and benefit from incentives

Qualifications

You will harness your luxury attitude, with humble excellence, a distinguished presence, and elevated emotional intelligence. Your pride and passion will be complemented by:

  • Level 3 Certificate in Massage Therapy (NZQA equivalent)
  • Minimum 12 months experience in similar role
  • Experience in retail sales would be advantageous 
  • Confident with beauty and maintenance treatments
  • Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and public holidays

30 hours guaranteed per week - $31.49 per hour.

 

 

Detailed Duties

  • Focus on sense of guest arrival/departure, hands-on treatments, massage, cleanliness, room ambience, and overall spa experience. Empathetic, friendly, and able to make people feel beautiful inside and out.
  • Apply finger and hand pressure to specific parts of the body.
  • Assess client’s’ soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength and range of motion.
  • Conger with clients about their medical history and any problems with stress and/or pain to determine whether massage would be helpful.
  • Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used
  • Massage and knead the muscles and soft tissues of the human body to provide courses of treatment for medical conditions and injuries or wellness maintenance.
  • Prepare and blend oils and apply to clients’ skin
  • Provide clients’ with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement, stretching, strengthening, relaxation and rehabilitative exercise.
  • Utilizing other techniques such as acupressure or Shiatsu and complimentary aids such as infrared lamps, wet compresses, ice, essential oils and herbal and mineral therapies to assist healing.
  • Utilising a range of massage techniques to enhance sports performance and prevent injury administering treatments to promote relaxation, improve circulation and relieve muscle tension.
  • Assessing and treating specific soft tissue dysfunction and providing rehabilitation advice.
  • Perform nail treatments on clients effectively.
  • Perform waxing treatments on clients including Brazilian wax.
  • Establish a long term relationship with customers. 
  • Provide after care advise and product recommendation to spa guests
  • Assist in reception tasks ( covering reception and end of day reports)
  • The leading expert in all areas of retail and treatments. Able and available to answer any questions that guests may have and give them extensive feedback and demonstration if applicable; with an ability to execute suggestive and add-on sales. 
  • Records all service/product items used. 
  • Takes charge of assigned room retail inventory.   
  • Takes control of guest booking.   
  • Coordinates the maintenance schedule of treatment room. 
  • Monitors, maintains and re-stocks assigned room with products, towels, supplies, disposables and work tools.
  • Participates in monthly meeting with Spa Manager and Supervisor on club performance, staff relations, training, productivity, equipment and facility maintenance, inventory, stocking and control. 
  • Maintains a commitment to the company vision and the “spirit” of the organization. 
  • Monitors personal performance tracking reports like attendance, training sessions attended, commission/incentives earned, and other work-related reports required. 
  • Communicates clearly and directly with supervisor and colleagues concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability within the team. Maintains team preparedness by constantly participating in training activities.
  • Any other reasonable request as required by your Supervisor or Management.
