Job Description

A key member of the wider Fairmont Hotel Finance & Business Support Team, this role will take ownership of the monitoring, review, enhancement, and deployment of processes, tools, and systems used in the finance shared services (CASD) program.

The position will focus on proactively identifying opportunities for business process improvement, as well as anticipating potential challenges/issues that hotels in the shared services program may encounter, so that solutions and enhancements can be continually developed.

This role will work collaboratively with hotels and our 3rd party shared services provider to ensure consistency and excellence in the delivery of the finance shared services program, as well as providing support to various Hotel Finance & Business Support initiatives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identify and evaluate business tools/processes/system improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies and automate manual processes
  • Maintain existing business process solutions whilst identifying and communicating risks/challenges to supervisor
  • Ownership of the monitoring, review, remediation, and reporting process for key performance metrics/SLAs and overall shared services processes health
  • Supervision and review of work being conducted/produced by 3rd party shared services provider to drive consistency and improvement
  • Assistance in remediating challenges/issues identified, sharing best practices, and delivering training where required
  • Escalation of issues surrounding Accounting, Policy or Controls to ED/VP, Finance & Business Support
  • Develop and manage key relationships with respective Hotel Directors of Finance & Business Support

Expected Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000

We are considering candidates across Canada, this is the expected range, but will vary based on location of candidate. 


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Hotel Finance experience
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and progress projects independently
  • Spirit of collaboration and teamwork, positive attitude and self-motivated
  • Entrepreneurial/growth mindset
  • Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures/compliance
  • Degree or Certificate in Finance/Accounting Designation preferred
  • Experience with Opera, SUN GFS and Blackline
  • Advanced Microsoft Office application skills
  • Ability to travel as required
  • VISA REQUIREMENTS: Must already be legally entitled to work in Canada and/or USA
