Job Description

Your Role in the Story

As our Senior Accountant, you are at the center of the Luura hotel’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, control, and compliance across all activities. You are responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and ensuring all journal entries are properly recorded and documented. You lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, while also ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, Greek GAAP, and internal policies. Through strong internal controls and regular reconciliations, you safeguard company assets and support both internal and external audits.

You actively oversee daily financial operations, including monitoring revenue streams across rooms, food & beverage, and events, ensuring all income is accurately reflected in the ERP system. You supervise Acc. Payable and Acc. Receivable functions, ensuring invoicing, collections, and payments are processed efficiently and correctly. Working closely with operational departments such as Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, and Purchasing, you reconcile PMS and POS systems, audit transactions, and resolve discrepancies to maintain consistency and accuracy across all financial data.

Beyond core accounting responsibilities, you play a key role in performance analysis and business support. You prepare reconciliations of hotel payments, contribute to profit and loss reporting, and monitor operating expenses to identify variances and opportunities for improvement. You consistently meet reporting deadlines, maintain strict confidentiality, and act as a trusted partner to the Cluster Director of Finance and General Manager, supporting strategic decisions and handling ad hoc financial tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure all journal entries are accurate and properly documented.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor daily revenue reports (rooms, food & beverage, events) and oversee that all revenues are presented in the ERP as per Greek GAAP.
  • Oversee the AP and AR departments- ensure that all processes are followed
  • Supervise invoicing, collections, and payment processes and postings.
  • Working together with Purchasing department and ensure all are processes are kept in line as per company policies
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and hotel policies.
  • Prepare and reconcile all monthly taxes and present them for submission.
  • Develop and enforce internal control procedures to safeguard assets.
  • Prepare monthly and annul G/l account reconciliations
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Monitor Front Office transactions including room charges, adjustments, discounts, and guest billing accuracy
  • Reconcile PMS data with accounting records and resolve discrepancies in coordination with Front Office and F&B teams
  • Audit POS & Bank transactions and ensure proper integration/reconciliation between POS and PMS systems
  • Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations of all Hotel payments (POS, cash, Banks, etc.)
  • Prepare and support departmental profit and loss statements and management reporting packs
  • Monitor operating expenses and highlight cost variances or inefficiencies
  • Work closely with operational departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, and Purchasing
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data across all hotel systems.
  • Collaborating on improving financial processes, reporting efficiency, and operational transparency
  • Strong use of Excel and hotel accounting systems (PMS/POS) for reporting and analysis
  • Ensure timely completion of reporting deadlines, especially during month-end and year-end close
  • Maintain confidentiality and high accuracy in all financial data handling
  • Any Ad hoc tasks that may be requested by the Cluster Director of Finance or General Manager.

 


Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry, including both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university.
  • Hold a class A Accounting license is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge Greek GAAP and Tax regulations
  • Experience with Accounting software, Hotel PMS, Hotel POS, and Microsoft Office (advanced excel use is important).
  • Eligible to work in (EU) countries
  • Proficient in English
