Job Description

To deliver the hotel’s internal security services and ensure that outsourced security companies deliver external security services in accordance with Hyde/Accor standards This Security Leader position will ultimately be responsible for the protection of people, property and assets at the hotel. This must be achieved by proactively creating and maintaining an environment where the safety, security, protection and well-being of all stakeholders (employees, customers, tenants & investors) interests is a consistent focus area.

The role works closely with hotel leaders to ensure smooth and efficient operations.


Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of previous experience in managing Security  
  • 5 years minimum in Facility/Workplace security
  • Diploma/ Certification in Security programs or Law Enforcement etc. - advantageous
  • NOSA/SAMTRAC/NEBOSH occupational Health & Safety certification highly regarded
  • Fire safety certification
  • First aid certification
  • Able to adapt to a multi-national environment
  • Knowledge of all applicable South Africa Legislation relating to criminal law, security, Occupational health & safety, event management, fire safety etc
  • Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to getting work done, adjusting to changing circumstances and demands
  • Ability to simultaneously pay attention to a number of demands
  • Operates comfortably in an environment of moderate levels of short-notice demand
  • Ability to anticipate future circumstances, conditions and requests and use these scenarios to plan for the future
  • Embraces, supports and models organisational values and culture
  • Ability to effectively communicate effectively with guests and colleagues in English
  • Strong leadership
