Job Description

As a Kitchen Steward, you are responsible for executing a range of essential duties that ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. These duties include but are not limited to:

  • Operate an industrial dishwasher (sort, stack, load, unload)
  • Ensure dishes, glasses, cutlery, utensils, silverware required are clean and available for use
  • Store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner
  • Transport food & supplies from the storeroom & kitchen to designated areas
  • Ensure all breakages and chipped items are reported & removed from circulation and inventoried
  • Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times and correct equipment and chemicals are used
  • Assist with set-up and break down of service areas for service and functions
  • Cleaning of stoves, ovens, grills, refrigerators & using necessary cleaning solutions and tools              
  • Maintain a healthy, clean and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on their own or in teams
  • Police certificate of character 
  • Ability to work on weekends and bank holidays
