Job Description
As a Kitchen Steward, you are responsible for executing a range of essential duties that ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Operate an industrial dishwasher (sort, stack, load, unload)
- Ensure dishes, glasses, cutlery, utensils, silverware required are clean and available for use
- Store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner
- Transport food & supplies from the storeroom & kitchen to designated areas
- Ensure all breakages and chipped items are reported & removed from circulation and inventoried
- Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times and correct equipment and chemicals are used
- Assist with set-up and break down of service areas for service and functions
- Cleaning of stoves, ovens, grills, refrigerators & using necessary cleaning solutions and tools
- Maintain a healthy, clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Positive attitude
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work on their own or in teams
- Police certificate of character
- Ability to work on weekends and bank holidays
