Job Description

Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort is seeking a dynamic Sales and Events Executive to join our team. Your primary role will be converting reactive sales enquiries to drive revenue and collaborating with operational departments to ensure smooth delivery of conferences and events.

You will manage leads for group business, including MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and leisure segments. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting proposals using OPERA Sales and Event Management, conducting site inspections with potential clients, and assisting the sales team with new business confirmations. You will also implement a personal sales call plan and conduct market research for new MICE business.

Additionally, you will oversee the complete organisation of conferences and events from inquiry to confirmation, including coordination, billing, and post-event follow-up. This involves creating Banquet Event Orders in OPERA, managing billing and invoicing, and maintaining positive client relationships. You will have the ability to build repour and maintain relationships with conference companies and organisers to help secure new business. Additionally, you will maintain the existing customer base to ensure repeat business and represent the resort at industry events.

This role will require availability to work rotating roster for Saturday coverage.


Qualifications

Experience in sales, hospitality or events preferred.

Great communication and presentation skills.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficient with OPERA Sales and Event Management (Not essential)
