Job Description

Are you one who is looking to grow your skills in the area of Reservations and Revenue Management, within the hospitality industry, whilst enjoying the breathtaking setting of the Canadian Rockies?

Starting Rate: $23.12 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $26.20.

Job Duties Include:

  • Reporting to the Front Desk Manager, the Rooms Inventory Coordinator’s responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for blocking/maintaining the inventory of 757 guest rooms, while ensuring the right guest is in the right room at the right rate in an effort to meet our VOG goals and applicable budgets and based on reservation comments, requests, history, guest type and party-with bookings.
  • Balance inventory from the oversell categories and manage blocks effectively.
  • Reach out to guests prior to arrival to communicate any blocking challenges if necessary and find meaningful solutions to ensure expectations are set up prior to arrival (for example; rooms do not connect, party is split between areas, separate wings reserved etc.)
  • Have a complete knowledge of all our guest rooms and inventory.
  • Attend weekly group resume meeting, handling convention group room blocking requests, and communicate meeting notes to applicable departments.
  • Facilitate weekly blocking meeting with key players in the hotel and effectively communicate compression dates to the applicable departments to ensure action plans are arranged and executed appropriately.
  • Responsible for providing creative ways of distributing the information about our guest rooms, to ensure our colleagues have the tools to provide upgrade options, and exceed guest expectations. 
  • Knowledge of tours contracts and expectations as it relates to room allocations and balancing inventory.
  • Knowledge of group business and expectations as it relates to room allocations through group masters and blocks, incentive business, convention files, and group resumes.
  • Knowledge of maintenance/restoration affected rooms and the ability to work with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure rooms are placed out of order/service based on occupancy levels in order to maximize revenue. Additionally, work with Capital Manager to assist with project specific reservations and inventory requirements.
  • Work with Revenue Manager and Reservations Manager to ensure that the inventory between MFR and Property Manager balances to ensure that we are able to have a full sell of the hotel.
  • Work with the Executive Office to ensure VIP rooms are allocated appropriately.
  • Assist in all areas of the rooms division as required
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written)
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous
    at all times
  • Previous customer related experience an asset
  • Previous Opera PMS experience an asset
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Hospitality Degree/ Diploma is an asset
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
