Job Description

Our Development Team in DACH is looking for a new (Junior) Development Manager (m/f/d) for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will directly contribute to the growth of the Accor brands through networking, sourcing all possible locations and leads as well as bringing together the operational, legal and technical services from the start of projects, to the final stage of signing the contracts, until the opening of a hotel. You will be responsible for prospecting, developing, negotiating, executing deals and achieving projected goals for a number of development projects (new builds, conversions, etc.) in this region.

This role will be based in our Munich Head Office and reports directly to the Vice President Development DACH.


Your tasks & responsibilities include:

  • You will source and negotiate sites or projects, as well as existing hotels valid for franchise & management opportunities
  • You will ensure economic viability for the respective hotel projects
  • You will focus new development- as well as rebranding opportunities through networking geared at governmental authorities, municipalities, hotel owners, financial institutions, leading companies and prominent entrepreneurs, consultants, estate agents, architects, engineers, etc.
  • You will actively participate in the strategic planning and implementation of the Development Plan.
  • Furthermore, you will represent Accor and its brands at hotel conferences and business events
  • You will support partner management and actively recruit new hotel partners to join the Accor network
  • Finally, you will prepare presentation packages for validation by Development Committees in consultation with Technical / Operations / Financial / Marketing / Legal departments

Qualifications

Your qualifications are:

  • You have min. 3 years of experience within hotel development / commercial real estate / consulting
  • You have proven exposure to the German, Austrian and Swiss hospitality market with evidence of a stable growing network throughout the region / countries
  • You have an undergraduate degree (Bachelor)
  • You possess a strong business- and financial acumen, with extensive knowledge of all financial issues related to development and investment decisions: Review of P&L, ROCE, IRR, ROE, finance and operating leases, hotel valuations
  • Negotiation skills are among your key strengths
  • Your actions and decisions are driven by an analytical and strategic mindset
  • You have great networking skills, with a proven track record of connections throughout the region to generate and source leads
  • In addition, you have strong knowledge and a deep understanding of the various kinds of contracts in use for hotel developments (lease, purchase, management, franchise)
  • Fluency in both German and English is essential, ideally you speak an additional major European language (e.g. French)
