Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Pastry Production & Quality Control:

  • Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, bread, and other baked goods.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation according to established recipes.
  • Follow portion control and minimize waste while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ensure all food items meet hygiene and safety standards before service.

Kitchen Operations & Hygiene:

  • Prepare mise en place for daily pastry production.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and pastry kitchen.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Properly store and manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies.

Team Collaboration & Development:

  • Work closely with the Pastry Chef and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when required.
  • Contribute creative ideas for new desserts and seasonal menu items.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in a hotel or fine-dining setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, chocolate work, and baking methods.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Good teamwork, creativity, and a passion for pastry arts.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
