You are the guardian of Mama’s revenue flow 🛡️💖 — ensuring every number tells the right story and every transaction is accurate, controlled, and accounted for.
As our Income Controller, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial success of Mama Shelter Cape Town during its pre-opening journey. Working closely with the Finance team and operational departments, you’ll ensure revenue accuracy, effective controls, and smooth daily financial processes that support Mama’s vibrant hospitality experience.
Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
- Revenue Guardian 💰 Monitor and control all revenue streams including rooms, food & beverage, and other hotel income to ensure accurate recording and reporting.
- Daily Revenue Detective 🔍 Review daily sales reports, revenue postings, cashier reports, discounts, rebates, and adjustments to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Reconciliation Expert 📊 Perform daily reconciliations between operational systems, payment channels, and financial records, ensuring all transactions are correctly captured.
- Audit & Control Champion 🛡️ Maintain strong internal controls around revenue processes, supporting compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and financial standards.
- Systems & Reporting Pro 💻 Ensure accurate use of hotel systems including PMS, POS, and finance systems while supporting revenue reporting and data integrity.
- Cash & Payment Controller 💳 Monitor cash handling procedures, credit card transactions, deposits, and payment settlements to ensure proper controls are maintained.
- Operations Partner 🤝 Work closely with Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other departments to resolve revenue discrepancies and improve financial processes.
- Pre-Opening Finance Support 🏨✨ Support the Finance team in establishing revenue control procedures, reporting routines, and operational processes ahead of Mama Shelter Cape Town’s opening.
- Detail-Oriented Team Player 🙏 Bring accuracy, curiosity, and a proactive approach to ensure Mama’s financial engine runs smoothly every day.

- You have 2–3 years’ experience in income audit, revenue control, or finance roles within hospitality 🏨
- You have experience working in a hotel, lifestyle property, restaurant, or high-volume F&B environment
- You have strong knowledge of revenue reconciliation, cashier controls, and financial reporting 📑
- You are highly organised, detail-focused, and passionate about accuracy 👀
- You are comfortable working with numbers, systems, and daily reporting 💻
- You have strong Excel skills and confidence handling financial data 📊
- You communicate effectively with operational teams and build strong working relationships 🤝
- You are reliable, ethical, and maintain high standards of confidentiality 🔒
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being hands-on ⚡
YOUR LITTLE EXTRAS 🎯
- Experience supporting a hotel opening or pre-opening phase is an advantage 🏨
- Familiarity with Opera, Micros/Simphony, Sun Systems, or similar hospitality systems is preferred 💻
- Exposure to audits, internal controls, and compliance processes is a plus ✅

WORK AUTHORISATION 🌍
- Applicants must already hold valid work rights/work authorisation for South Africa. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the country where the role is based.
