Job Description

Sofitel New York is looking for an IT Manager who is an enthusiastic, hospitality-oriented professional that will manage day-to-day Information Technology efficiencies. As the IT Manager, you will champion computer systems, facilitate compliance with all security protocols, protect data, and ensure our network is optimized in support of hotel-wide operations. Establish and support a high level of cooperation and teamwork in all areas of Information Technology and among other departments.

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Manage the hotel’s day-to-day IT activity ensuring all standards are followed
  • Comply with the company’s IT Security Policy as it pertains to hardware, software, security/data safety
  • Assist in the proper backup of all business related, user relevant data
  • Schedule routine, preventative maintenance and daily clerical functions regarding integrity of computer systems
  • Support and maintain the hotel’s stand-alone systems
  • Implement and maintain backup and emergency procedures to ensure integrity of programs and data at all times.
  • Troubleshoot network issues as required
  • Liaise with hardware and software vendors on a regular basis to remain current with technology changes
  • Install software/hardware upgrades in compliance with the Company’s policies & legal requirements
  • Ensure that Sofitel hotels technology Policies and Procedures are carried out.
  • Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Leadership experience in a similar role required
  • Advanced troubleshooting knowledge of Windows 10 and MS Office software suites
  • CompTIA A+ certification required
  • Experience using WDS and image development
  • Microsoft Certified Software Engineer preferred
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networks
  • University/College degree in a related discipline required
  • Understanding of hotel applications an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Previous experience in the hospitality environment is an asset

  • The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents. 
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
