Job Description

Houseperson

At Fairmont Chateau Whistler, an exceptional guest experience begins before check-in, and extends throughout every stay. As a Houseperson, the organizational support you provide to the Housekeeping team will ensure our guest rooms are well equipped and welcoming.

This is a full-time, permanent role, starting in November or January.

Starting Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $26.25 per hour.

  • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies
  • Stock linen closet and supplies area
  • Clean and disinfect public areas such as hallways, washrooms, changing rooms, showers and elevators
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers
  • Report and store lost and found items
  • To respond to all Housekeeping and Royal Service calls, which includes guest deliveries and requests.
  • To assist the Room Attendants in bringing them required supplies.

Qualifications

  • Previous guest service and/or Housekeeping experience is an asset.
  • Must be physically fit and able to carry/move heavy loads – up to 50 pounds.
  • Previous cleaning experience is an asset.

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
