We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Butcher to join our team at Swissotel Corniche Park Towers in Doha, Qatar. As the Head Butcher, you will lead our meat department, ensuring the highest quality of products and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the daily operations of the meat department, including cutting, grinding, and preparing meats for sale
- Manage inventory, place orders with suppliers, and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, sanitary work environment
- Train and supervise butchery staff, promoting teamwork and efficiency
- Create attractive meat displays and ensure accurate product labelling and pricing
- Provide expert advice to customers on meat selection, cuts, and preparation methods
- Implement quality control measures to guarantee the freshness and quality of all meat products
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize sales and reduce waste
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce innovative meat products to meet customer demands
- Proven experience as a Head Butcher or in a similar leadership role in the meat industry
- Extensive knowledge of various meat cuts, preparation techniques, and quality assessment
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in inventory management and basic budgeting
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle meat cutting tools and equipment
- Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Relevant certifications in food safety or butchery (preferred)
- Proficiency in English
