Fairmont Spa at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is seeking a talented, professional, and guest-focused Hairstylist to join our Spa team on a casual basis, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on business needs and performance.

The ideal candidate will be confident and experienced in providing haircuts and hairstyling services for both women and men, with a strong passion for creating personalized looks and exceptional guest experiences.

The successful candidate will also be comfortable providing hair washing, blow-drying, styling, hairdos and event hairstyling. Experience with hair colouring and nail services will be considered an asset.

This is a versatile role within the Spa. During periods when there are no hairstyling appointments, the Hairstylist will support the wider Spa operation by assisting with Spa Reception, Spa Attendant duties, guest services, and general support for the Spa team.

Key Responsibilities

Hair Services

• Provide professional haircuts for both women and men, including consultation and personalized recommendations.
• Perform haircuts based on the guest's preferences, hair type, face shape, lifestyle, and desired look.
• Provide hair washing and shampoo services using appropriate professional products.
• Provide professional blow-dry and blowout services, including smooth, polished, textured, and volumized finishes.
• Create a variety of hairstyles and hairdos for everyday looks, special occasions, weddings, celebrations, and events.
• Provide styling services including curls, waves, braids, updos, ponytails, and other customized hairstyles.
• Perform hair colouring services, including consultations, colour applications, touch-ups, and other services within the candidate's qualifications and expertise.
• Recommend appropriate hairstyles and haircare routines based on the guest's needs.
• Recommend professional haircare products when appropriate and support Spa retail sales.
• Maintain current knowledge of hairstyling techniques, trends, and professional haircare products.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the salon.
• Properly sanitize and maintain all tools and equipment in accordance with Spa standards.

Spa Reception Support

When there are no hairstyling appointments, the Hairstylist will assist with Spa Reception responsibilities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting Spa guests in a warm, professional, and engaging manner.
• Answering guest inquiries in person and by telephone.
• Assisting with Spa bookings, confirmations, cancellations, and guest requests.
• Supporting retail sales and product recommendations.
• Processing payments and assisting with general administrative duties.
• Assisting with the Spa booking system after appropriate training.
• Maintaining a professional, clean, and welcoming reception area.
• Supporting the Spa team with general operational requirements.

Spa Attendant & General Spa Support

When required, assist the Spa team with:

• Preparing treatment rooms and Spa areas for guests.
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the Spa.
• Restocking linens, amenities, products, and supplies.
• Supporting therapists and other Spa team members with operational needs.
• Assisting with guest refreshments and Spa amenities.
• Supporting opening and closing duties as required.
• Ensuring the Spa environment consistently reflects luxury service standards.

Guest Experience & Events

• Deliver a warm, personalized, and professional guest experience.
• Build positive relationships with Spa and hotel guests.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Support weddings, corporate groups, VIP guests, and other special events taking place at the hotel.
• Work closely with the Spa and hotel teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Be flexible with scheduling based on guest demand, events, weekends, and holidays.

• Recognized Hairstylist certification or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong experience providing women's and men's haircuts.
• Strong knowledge and experience in hair washing, blow-drying, hairstyling, and hairdos.
• Experience with hair colouring is an asset.
• Experience with bridal, event, or special occasion hairstyling is an asset.
• Previous salon, spa, hotel, or luxury hospitality experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
• Ability and willingness to support other areas of the Spa when hairstyling appointments are not booked.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple guest needs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and special events.

• Passionate about hair, beauty, and guest service.
• Confident working with both male and female guests.
• Skilled in creating everything from a classic haircut to a polished blowout or sophisticated event hairstyle.
• Creative, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
• Comfortable working in a luxury hotel and Spa environment.
• Flexible and willing to assist with Reception, Spa Attendant, and general Spa duties during periods without hairstyling appointments.
• Professional, reliable, positive, and team-oriented.
• Interested in growing with the Spa and potentially transitioning from part-time to full-time.

Working Conditions

• Part-time position with potential for full-time employment based on business needs, availability, and performance.
• Schedule will be based on Spa guest demand and may include weekends, holidays, and special events.
• The successful candidate must be flexible to support the Spa operation outside of hairstyling appointments when required.
• Accommodation is not provided for this position.
• The position reports directly to the Spa Director.
