Groups, Meetings & Events Executive

Luxury & Lifestyle

Company Description

We're looking for a Groups, Meetings & Events Executive to join our team at The Hoxton, Lloyd Amsterdam.

Set in the historic former Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam's Eastern Docklands, our second Hoxton in the city is home to 136 rooms, a stylish restaurant and terrace, a bar and The Apartment: our unique meetings and events concept. It's an exciting time to join as we continue to grow the meeting and events business.

What Hox is all about...

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

What’s in it for you…

  • Join a creative, supportive team that loves great hospitality.
  • A gross monthly salary between €2,600 - €3,200 (based on 38 hours contract) depending on your experience and the skills you bring to the role.
  • 25 holiday days (plus public holidays).
  • Lunch provided at work
  • Free overnight stay and dinner for two when you join.
  • Plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
  • Swapfiets and Urban Sports Club discounts.
  • Team socials (monthly High Fives), volunteering days and wellbeing support (OpenUp).
  • Great discounts across The Hoxton and Ennismore hotels.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

You'll manage meetings and events from enquiry to handover, making sure every detail is covered and every guest has a great experience.

Day to day you'll:

  • Handle enquiries, create proposals and convert bookings.
  • Plan events and ensure a smooth handover to our operations team.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients and encourage repeat business.
  • Conduct site visits and show rounds.
  • Keep Opera Sales & Catering up to date and prepare weekly function sheets.
  • Work closely with other departments to deliver seamless events.
  • Spot opportunities to upsell and support the wider sales team when needed.

Qualifications

What we're looking for...

  • You have at least 2 years experience in a similar role within a hotel or event venue.
  • You have experience working with Opera PMS, Delphi or similar hotel reservation systems.
  • You're confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • You're fluent in English, both written and spoken. Dutch is a bonus.
  • You're available to start as of 1st of September or earlier.
  • You're highly organised, proactive and great at juggling priorities.
  • You enjoy building relationships, solving problems and making things happen.
  • You're a team player who leaves their ego at the door, jumps in where needed and likes doing things a little differently.

If you're passionate about hospitality, love bringing people together and enjoy creating memorable experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
