Grounds Person

Our 5-Star Luxury Beachside Resort is part of the Accor Hotel Group, which hosts over 5,600 properties worldwide. Our Resort boasts 150 luxuriously appointed bungalow style villas, an award-winning restaurant, wedding and conferencing facilities and a day spa. Join our esteemed maintenance department as the resort's grounds person.

• Interact with Housekeeping, Kitchen and Front Office to ensure all requests are completed.
• Operate push or riding lawnmowers.
• Water all plants and lawn ensuring all plants are evenly covered.
• Spread fertiliser, plant food, mulch, and other materials around plants.
• Operate trimmer and edger to remove overgrowth and keep outdoor area tidy.
• Use leaf blower to clear walkways and pedestrian areas after lawn maintenance.
• Treat lawn and landscaping with pesticides to remove harmful insects.
• Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival.
• Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs.
• Remove weeds and dead plants, tree limbs, overgrowth, and other hazards and rake fallen leaves and remove debris. Organise the collection and/or recycling of garden waste.
• Ensure outdoor furniture, décor, and lighting is maintained and in good working order.
• Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, etc.
• Oversee maintenance repairs to equipment, landscape structures, and hardscape walkways.
• Cleans and maintains pool and spas, handling all pool chemicals in a safe manner.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems.
• Carry out maintenance on the water reticulation system to ensure acceptable availability and reliability.
• Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Assist with the day to day maintenance requirements of the hotel/resort.
• Liaise with supervisor / manager / contractors regarding all work to ensure out of order areas are brought back into use as soon as possible.
• Carry out maintenance requirements and follow up as scheduled by the Hotels’ Property Management System (PMS).

• Australian working rights.
• Demonstrated experience in landscaping and grounds keeping.
• Trades certificate (Desired)
• Friend & approachable  person with our guests and team members.
• Knowledge of fertilizer and/or pesticide applications.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Hazard & control knowledge of the role.
