General Technician

The main job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• To inspect, clean, maintain and repair all MEP system available at the premises.
• To maintain all lighting throughout hotel.
• To maintain all HVAC units.
• To maintain all motor, belts, bearings, etc.
• To maintain all shop tools and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair all equipment that is non-operational.
• Do all necessary welding as required.
• Do all work orders pertain to the hotel.
• Answer all calls and does repairs, if unable to do repairs, must notify the duty engineer of the problem.
• Perform chemical test for boilers, chillers, swimming pool, etc.
• Is part of the fire response team, also on standby in the event of any emergencies.
• Complete preventative maintenance as schedule by engineering coordinator/ Duty engineer.
• Maintain adequate stock of parts/materials in the maintenance shop.
• Creatively resolve electrical/mechanical issues in order to keep the machinery operational.
• To maintain the reading of utility meters and report if any deviation.
• Daily walk around on all plant rooms, workshop and report if any deviation.
• Take daily engineering all operation checklist in order to ensure equipment’s are working in good condition.
• Check all areas lighting and ensure all are working as per design.
• Maintain store stock of materials and report to coordinator/duty engineer to order the items.
• If any issues are pending due to non-availability of materials, report to coordinator to purchase the materials and close the pending issues also give all details of required items (such as specification, picture of the spares)
• Update daily productivity on daily bases in provided logbook and submit to duty engineer for his validation.
• Give proper handover to next shift with pending issues, major work if any update.
• Maintain public area temperature as advised by duty engineer.
• Maintain adult pool & kids pool chemical parameters, temperature as advised by duty engineer and report to duty engineer if any abnormal.
• Acknowledge complaints within given time frame before it goes to escalation and complete the job, if it’s pending report to duty engineer to stop with detailed explanation in remarks.
• Follow the pending complaints during your shift and complete the work in coordination with duty engineer.
• Do the PPM for all equipment as instructed by duty engineer on monthly bases and update the PPM Job sheet to be validated by duty engineer and manager.
• Follow the waste management program set by manager on your workplace
• Assist duty engineer for preparing snagging / de-snagging of FOH/BOH Areas.
• Operate BMS System as per requirements and notify to duty engineer if any changes made during your shift such as override valves/fans.
• Report to duty engineer if any safety hazard / abnormal on your shift and take an action to resolve it.
• Follow the instruction of duty engineer/engineering coordinator in all situation and report them back for their assignment.
• Support to reduce engineering expenses by repairing the equipment instead of purchasing new one and take initiative to repair everything instead of go for buying new one.
• Maintain cleanliness of workshop, working place and plant rooms before/during/after the work.
• To ensure cleanliness of appearance and uniform, particularly when working in guest areas.
• Report to duty punctually and inform in advance if unable to report such as sick or any personal issues so that alternative schedule will be arranged to replace you for the shift.
• Wear PPE for all the works to comply workplace safety.
• Follow the hotel policies and SOPs.
