Job Description

Mercure Nottingham Sherwood is a fabulous property that has been recently refurbished to offer 172 stylish bedrooms and 12 meeting spaces that can cater for a range of social and corporate events. The event spaces can accommodate up to 160 for a seated dinner or up to 200 for a conference.

Guests can dine in the open plan restaurant situated in the conservatory which offers a full range of seasonal dishes and relax and enjoy a drink in the stylish bar. 

The hotel has a Leisure Club with gym, heated indoor pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna.

Less than 3 km from Nottingham City centre the hotel offers the perfect location for sightseeing and shopping being just a stone's throw from Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Sherwood Forest, and Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery.

The Mercure Nottingham Sherwood is managed by Accor the Hotel is one of 6 hotels which are owned by PROARK UK Hotels Limited.

We are seeking someone who was born for the hospitality industry with the desire to develop their career with Accor

What you will be doing?

•Provide and lead the property’s effective operational and strategic direction within all departments.

•Influence Talent and Culture activities including successful talent recruitment, retention,  training and development.

•Maximize revenue potential and maintain cost control measures to achieve hotel business objectives and budgets.

•Ensure strong and successful relationships with all stakeholders, including owning company, local authorities and surrounding communities


Qualifications

Your skills and experience include:

  • Previous  General Manager experience in mid-scale or similar property is necessary.
  • Previous experience managing owner relationships.
  • Commercially driven. Ideally you must have strong background in food and beverage and Conference and banqueting.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • A strong focus on customer service and guest expectations.
