Job Description

  1. Support the Finance Manager in overseeing daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  2. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  3. Ensure that the information presented in all reports is accurate and reflects actual business and financial transactions.
  4. Prepare assigned monthly accounting entries and perform distribution of expenses between departments
  5. Conduct periodic cash reviews and assist in surprise audits of the hotel's cash fund.
  6. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  7. Manage cash flow, including monitoring bank balances, reconciling accounts, and ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs.
  8. Assist in the coordination and preparation of audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  9. Supervise and mentor team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and accurate work.
  10. Review and approve financial transactions, ensuring they comply with company policies and procedures.
  11. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for business decision-making.
  12. Assist in implementing and maintaining financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and safeguard assets.
  13. Stay updated on financial regulations, standards, and best practices, advising management on relevant changes and their impact on the business. Organization of financial administration.
  14. Have a thorough knowledge of accounting functions and the ability to monitor, correct and demonstrate procedures to hotel quality standards.
  15. Ensure that all files and reports are properly organised and filed for future reference.
  16. Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Finance Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
  • CPA certification
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including familiarity with complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines with effective time management skills.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with general ledger management, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and suggest improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of audit processes, both internal and external.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
