Company Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team. As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial health of 3 of our hotels in Auckland and Queenstown.  This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing strategic financial guidance to support decision-making for the leaders of the business. 


Job Description

  • Manage financial operations for 3 hotels (2 based in Auckland and 1 in Queenstown) including accurate reporting, budget, forecast, tax responsibilities, and month-end accounts.
  • Collaborate with an experienced finance team and hotel management, maintaining strong leadership and a customer-focused approach while effectively managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Conduct expense analysis, internal and external audits, provide training, facilitate reconciliations, and support payroll reporting, while familiarizing with hotel systems and their integration with the general ledger.
  • Responsible for managing a small finance team.
  • This role is based in Auckland CBD with options to work remotely from hotels and quarterly travel to Queenstown required. 

Qualifications

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Experience working in the hotel or hospitality industry essential
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgement and decision making skills
  • Able to drive change and look for operational efficiencies/synergies across the network
  • Must have full working rights in New Zealand
