Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented Food and Beverage Supervisor for our In Room Dining department at our prestigious hotel in Brisbane, Australia. This role is crucial in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests within the comfort of their rooms.

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of in-room dining operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and service
  • Lead and motivate a team of room service attendants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
  • Manage guest orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery while maintaining excellent customer service
  • Monitor and maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to update and improve in-room dining menus
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
  • Manage inventory, place orders, and control costs while minimising waste
  • Create and adjust staff schedules to meet service demands and optimize efficiency
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of all in-room dining equipment and service areas
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (2-3 years minimum) in food and beverage service, preferably in a luxury hotel
  • Previous supervisory experience in hospitality
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
  • Current Food Safety Certification and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and cost control
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • In-depth understanding of in-room dining operations and hotel guest service standards
  • Knowledge of current food and beverage trends
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
