MAJOR FUNCTION
This position is concerned with the service of drinks and associated products directly to the guest, as per the standards set by the Beverage Policy, and in addition complying with the F&B Control and ordering procedures as set by the Policies of the Company.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILIES
The main responsibility of the flair bartender is all about finesse and fancy tricks. They can use any bar tool or accessory to juggle, throw and spin, and flow from one smooth move to the next – you just sit back and enjoy the show as they create a delicious drink delivered with a thrilling and theatrical flourish.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- The flair bartenders entertaining guests, clientele or audiences with the manipulation of bar tools (e.g. cocktail shakers) and liquor bottles in tricky, dazzling ways.
- To prepare drinks upon receipt of an order form as stipulated in the Beverage Policy.
- To ensure sufficient mise en place is prepared per shift to meet the expected daily demand. Reporting any shortfalls or out of stock items to the Bars Supervisor.
- To be always responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of the bar area, ensuring that all daily cleaning schedules are maintained.
- To be responsible for the safety of all operating equipment and bar service equipment, reporting any breakage or loss of equipment to the management.
- To be responsible for the correct storage and placement of all beverage and food stock, rotating all stock to ensure that there is no spoilage. And ensuring that the stock held in the bar is always safe and secure.
- To prepare daily all food and beverage requisitions at the end of each shift, as stipulated within the beverage policy.
- To record the sales of all full bottle and wine sales daily as per the beverage policy.
- To record accurately all spillage and spoilage that occurs on the correct forms provided and ensure that this follows the beverage policy.
- To record any new cocktail recipes encountered, that local clients favor. And ensure these are filed accordingly.
- To follow any reasonable direction given by the chief bartender and the Management staff.
- To ensure full co-operation with fellow members of staff and service personnel, resulting in a high level of teamwork.
- To participate in the set up and running of the month end beverage inventory, ensuring that the bar is in a neat and tidy fashion and that all stock items can be counted.
- To ensure that there is no wastage of items that can be re-used by the bar or by the kitchen. And that any item that can be used is sent to the appropriate department.
- To report for work in the bar, at the time scheduled on the duty roster.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
